This was my earlier attempt at drawing Grendel for my October Drawing Challenge. For this rendition, I incorporated the spike fringes on its body, with extensive hair clusters and split mouth skull mask to conceal its more bestial face. I also added a mask stuck within its torso while adding a range of Nordic markings around the side of its body.
When I look at this one in comparison to the one I went with, I could've probably kept the first draft, as it looks more solid in the body and posture area and the Triangle markings look much better now that I implemented them. Plus, certain hair areas actually work better now that I look at it. Ah well, live and learn.
