Lycanthropy Pack. Card Artwork. Monster Type: A support group for the werebeast in all of us. No Furries!
This is from a series of card artwork I'm working on with a friend in getting his card party game off the ground. The game, Thy Dunjon Quest, is a party game utilizing elements of charades and blackjack for players to go one mock quests and encounters while gambling their gear based on success or failure.
The Lycanthropy Pack is definitely a threat. Though the promise of transformation into an animal and possessing all their strengths is tempting, the risks and potential alienation of your peers is incredibly daunting. Hence, the need for werebeasts to support each other, as demonstrated by this pack. They meet once a week and discuss the trials and tribulations of living a life as a shape shifter. Woe to thee who dares to intrude upon their meetings in the hopes of laying claim to werebeast slaughter, as they are a unified group and will take any overconfident adventurer and tear them to pieces as a team building exercise.
This was one of more challenging ideas to implement. The text had different animal sounds and my original drawing had a proverbial congo line of werebeasts from wolf to mouse. It wasn't until later, did I come up with the idea of creating such a motley assortment of creatures and just make it into a form of support group that the humor worked out. Last minute additions include the coffee makers and decorative banners for a complete support group experience.
