This is from a series of card artwork I'm working on with a friend in getting his card party game off the ground. The game, Thy Dunjon Quest, is a party game utilizing elements of charades and blackjack for players to go one mock quests and encounters while gambling their gear based on success or failure.
The Spear of Returning is a unique weapon in that it is a weapon that is certain to come back to you. Provided that you are still attached to it.
This was a weapon I threw into the list of cards, as I liked the idea of weapon that you had to tie one end of it to yourself to insure that once thrown, the spear can come back to you, hence the Spear of Returning. Plus, I get a chuckle picturing a hobbit connected to it as a Barbarian throws this weapon, sending both spear and hobbit, flying through the air.
