Yara- may- yha- Who
Number 15: Yara- may- yha- Who - October 16, 2009
2009

The Yara-ma-yha-who (say that three times fast) is a tiny red creature with no teeth, 'cept for teeth on the suckers on his fingers and toes. It lives in fig trees and doesn't whole for people, instead it waits for unsuspecting travelers who rest under the tree and silently uses its suckers to drain them of their blood, weakening them. The creature then swallows them whole, takes a drink of water, then takes a nap. However, it doesn't kill their victims. Instead, after its nap, the Yara-ma-yha-who regurgitates its victim, who becomes smaller and their skin turns redder, indicating that the Yara-ma-yha-who slowly turns their victims into another one of them.

For my portrayal of this bizarre creature, I used elements of a tree frog and fish while giving him a very relaxed and sorta catoony look of him.Sometimes, there are some creatures that are not necessary frightening, yet it is scary to think that this creature preys on you and slowly changes you into one of its own.
